Respecting Your Neighbors
* Quiet Hours: Keep noise down between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Turn off loud music, generators, and bright outdoor lights.
* Campsite Boundaries: Do not walk directly through someone else’s campsite. Use the designated dirt paths and roads.
* Driving Speed: Drive at walking speed—usually 5 to 10 mph (8 to 15 km/h). Watch for kids playing. [5, 6, 7, 8, 9]
Campfires and Safety
* Keep Fires Contained: Only burn wood inside the provided metal fire ring or pit. Never leave a fire unattended for even a minute.
* Drown the Embers: Pour water on your fire until it is cold to the touch before you go to bed or leave the site.
* Buy Local Wood: Do not bring firewood from home. It can carry bugs that kill local forests. Buy it at or near the park. [10, 11, 12, 13, 14]
Wildlife and Cleaning Up
* Lock Up Food: Never leave food, coolers, or trash sitting out. Store them inside a locked vehicle or a bear-proof metal locker.
* Pack It Out: Toss all garbage into the campground’s main dumpsters. Do not burn plastic or trash in your fire pit.
* Wash Far Away: Do not wash dishes or brush teeth directly at the drinking water spigots. Carry water back to your site to clean up. [15, 16, 17, 18, 19]
Pets and People Limits
* Leash Your Pets: Keep dogs on a leash at all times. Pick up their waste immediately and throw it in the trash.
* Site Capacity: Most campsites limit you to a maximum of 6 people and 1 or 2 vehicles.
